"I have been an insulin dependent diabetic for almost 40 years with a history of eye problems, including macular degeneration and glaucoma.  About 6 years ago I suffered from an eye infection with inner eye complications.  Treatment meant getting an injection in my eye every other month.  The first time I went through the procedure I fainted!  I have since had very painful laser surgery on both eyes and continued to need the shots.
